This year I gave away the guest bedroom furniture and expanded my studio. I love how the room turned out with a French Shabby Chic theme. I still tweek and re-organize it but mostly everything has a place and it looks pretty at the same time!
I made the valance and curtains for $14.00 with fabric from JoAnn's when I waited for it to be half-price and used coupons! The floors are brown wood panels laid on top of the carpet I needed to protect and make it easy to roll my chair around the room. I painted them in a checkerboard pattern with paint that had been watered down (to look aged). The furniture was various pieces that I painted white, then two coats of Valspar's "Sea Lily" before distressing.
My husband custom made the punch shelf so the door can be wide open and not touch the shelf. That would have been a wasted wall otherwise but now it gets used .He also made the rail that holds all of my dies and stencils. It's like one Ikea sells. Super easy to get to all the items when they are in view.
